With some festive feasting on the way, we’ve been dreaming about yummy sides. J’Something’s red onion and grilled brinjal salad is one of our favourites!
Mi Casa frontman and restauranteur J’Something shows us how to cook the ultimate roast leg of lamb for the whole family. It’s perfect for Sunday lunch! And if you want to see more of J’Something in action in our kitchen, click here.

To give you guys a little sneak preview, we put together a three-course meal from the book. And if these recipes leave you wanting more, well, you know where to find them for only R330 (RRP is approximate) for the whole book!

Choosing to become vegetarian takes a lot of discipline and can be challenging when you’re surrounded by meat-eaters. But let’s go back for a second. We all know that meat is a food product that eats through our wallets, and it’s especially difficult when you’re on a rather tight budget. So, why not try out a vegetarian diet? Nowadays, more and more people are choosing the vegetarian (and vegan) route, so grocery stores are supplying more alternative food options at lower prices!
He’s back! And he’s showing us how to make dessert this time. Adding stout to your brownie mixture will make them deliciously soft and will add a lovely richness that perfectly complements the chocolate.
Our favourite musical chef is back again with another finger-licking recipe where he shows us just how creative you can get with a good bottle of stout in the kitchen.
In the words of J’Something himself, ‘Enjoy these Stout Root Fries on their own, or as a healthy baked snack, that just might be delicious enough to dethrone the classic potato chip.’
