Clover’s Cream O’Naise attempts GUINNESS WORLD RECORD title this weekend

Clover prepares to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of sandwiches this week, and we can assure you that you do not want to miss out on this fantastic event.

Are you ready to watch as Clover attempts to break a new Guinness World Record – the longest sandwich line – with its Cream O’Naise mayonnaise as the star ingredient?

And speaking of the ingredients, the list is quite impressive. It includes 500 litres of Clover Cream O’Naise, 8 100 x 50 cm baguettes, 2 600 kg of grated Clover cheese and 800 kg of lettuce.

The sandwiches will be built by Clover employees with an official Guinness World Records title adjudicator present to make sure all guideline are followed.

‘We are cranking it up and going for at least 4 kilometres,’ says Edith Molepo, senior brand manager at Clover. The record is currently held by the brand Nocilla, who won the title in Spain in 2013. Their line measured 3 865.78 metres.

‘What makes the day extra special is the hundreds of local residents who will come to watch the action and cheer us on and enjoy the sandwiches with us at the end of the day,’ Edith tells us. A large portion of the sandwiches will also be given to the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Childhood Cancer Foundation SA (CHOC) and The Gift of the Givers disaster relief foundation.

You can also look forward to seeing some celebrity chefs and lifestyle bloggers like Chef Nti, Zola Nene, Ewan Strydom and Somizi Mhlongo throughout the day.
