Cooking with kids: Toffee-coated strawberries

As they come back into season, it’s time to bring strawberries back into your baking! The little ones will especially love these toffee-coated strawberries.

MAKES 20 // COOKING TIME 20 min

INGREDIENTS
20 strawberries
1 cup sugar

METHOD
1. Line a baking tray with baking paper and insert a lolly stick into each strawberry.
2. Place sugar in a pot over low heat. Cook, stirring for 3 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved, then increase the heat to a boil. Cook without stirring for 6–8 minutes, until the mixture turns golden. Set aside for 30 seconds, until the bubbles subside.
3. Dip each strawberry in the hot toffee. Place on the baking tray and leave until the toffee is fully hardened, about 15 minutes.
