Each year, a panel of esteemed judges gathers to do a blind-tasting of 60 South African Chardonnays that have fared well in local and international competitions. Enabled by the sponsorship of multinational financial services company Prescient, the wines are scored on a 100-point scale and reviewed on their taste and nose.
This year, the quality of wines excelled, with 35 (as opposed to last year’s 29) ending up with 90+ points.
